Prerequisites for taking snapshots

Access, via Ssh or remoting, to the target host. The connection details and transport plugin used to take the snapshot will be the one specified on the environments parent server.

Taking a snapshot

1. Log into the framework server. Go to Projects. Select a project, or, if not present, create a new one.
2. On the Orchestration tab, select the Tomcat Snapshot task from the task list. If not present in the list, ensure the plugin is installed.
3. Ensure the prerequisites are met and complete the task fields with the required data
4. Save the configuration
5. Create a package and run the job on the specified target
6. The snapshot will be taken and stored either locally on the target server, or copied back to the framework, depending on the option you select.
7. If copied back, you can view/compare the snapshot by navigating to the target chosen in step 5.
8. Navigate to Infrastructure. Select the snapshot environment and click on the 'Snapshots' tab.
