Taking a snapshot of a WebSphere Cell

You can use this plugin to take a snapshot of cell configuration and retrieve it back to the framework server for use in performing comparisons over time.

Prerequisites for taking snapshots

  • For taking snapshots, the relevant WebSphere client jars will need to be present on the target server.
  • You will need a username and password to connect to the target WebSphere Cell.
  • You will need a hostname and soap port to connect to
  • You will need to configure the location of keystores and truststores and their passwords, if using Ssl security.

Taking a snapshot

  1. Log into the framework server. Go to Projects. Select a project, or, if not present, create a new one.
  2. On the Orchestration tab, select the WebSphere Snapshot task from the task list. If not present in the list, ensure the plugin is installed.
  3. Ensure the prerequisites are met and complete the task fields with the required data
  4. Save the configuration
  5. Create a package and run the job.
