This section covers operations documentation when using RapidDeploy as the release automation tool in the enterprise.

Checking a job status

In order to check the status of a job, perform the following actions:

  1. Log in to the RapidDeploy console, entering your username and password
  2. If the job has completed, navigate to Jobs -> Previous Jobs
  3. If the job is still running, navigate to Jobs -> Executing Jobs
  4. Jobs are listed newest job at the top. There may be many pages of historical jobs.
  5. Select the job by highlighting it. You can use the search boxes above each of the columns to refine the list of jobs you see. You can see more job details by clicking on the small arrow on the left hand side of the list item.
  6. Check the status of the job:

    Use the executing jobs icons to determine the state of the executing job

    Use the previous jobs icons to determine the state of the completed job

  7. In the event that the job failed (red cross), you can download the log to view through your favourite text editor, or view the job in an html page. Scrolling to the bottom of the log, you will see one or more exception messages detailing the reason for the failure. These errors may need to be reported to the application or administration teams.
